Bringing our community together to celebrate Tamil Heritage and spread awareness

Social or Cultural Events

At SOPCA, we host many cultural and social gatherings to celebrate Tamil Heritage. We strive to bring together families across the Peel region to give Tamil Youth an opportunity to celebrate century-old Tamil traditions and explore various festivities throughout the year. Our most notable events are:

  • The Canada Day Program

  • The Annual Program

  • SOPCA Picnics

  • SOPCA Trips

Giving back to the Community

SOPCA strives to spread awareness and education our peers about on-going environment, sustainability and social issues. We also encourage members of our community to take action when needed. As a group, we have participated many times in charitable acts, such as:

  • Volunteering at our local Food Bank

  • Participating in Blood Bank Donations

  • Hosting Educational Seminars on various topics (previous seminars include Financial Management, Pathways to Post-Secondary Education, Mental Health Awareness, etc.)

  • SOPCA proudly donated 874 pounds of food to Mississauga food banks in 2024, helping support families in need throughout the community.

  • In 2025, SOPCA increased its impact with a generous contribution of 1,248 pounds of food, continuing our commitment to strengthening and supporting the Peel community.
